The Doctor goes back in time and does what Amy tells him to do. He goes and tells little Amelia Pond about all these stories; the stories that she will live out one day. And you know how the Doctor is, he doesn’t just want one visit, he spreads them out over a few years while she’s still young Amelia. And that’s why therapy doesn’t help her, the Doctor isn’t just a distant memory she’s holding onto, he’s her Raggedy Doctor that visits all the time and tells her stories while she drifts off to sleep at night.
